Learn about common health issues in association with oral health, effective communication and behaviour management techniques. Our sessions provide your team with the skills, knowledge and recommended tools required to deliver mouth care confidently for different people.
The training is focussed on delivering person centred care, to meet the standards as directed by the Care Quality Commission and NICE guidance. It is comprehensive but is delivered simplistically in a fun way with ample opportunity to interact with the trainer.
On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:
Have a better understanding of how to provide daily mouthcare for dependent and medically compromised service users to include denture care.
Be able to give dietary recommendations in line with healthy eating policies [learning disabilities]
Have knowledge of the mouth in health and disease and how it affects general health, wellbeing and dignity.
Become more proficient of what to look for when carrying out an oral health assessment
Support individuals who require assistance by applying recommended practical tips & coping strategies
Feel confident with selecting recommended mouth care tools in palliative and end of life care
