Our live webinar training curriculum means that more health care professionals can be trained across care homes about the importance of good oral hygiene for residents.  This training is exceptionally crucial for healthcare professionals in intermediate and long-term care are often at high risk of oral health problems because of their other chronic and sometimes, complex current conditions.

This Oral Care Training session is designed for care staff that are involved in personal care.   Senior Care Staff, Nurses, Oral Champions, Learning and Development Leads and Trainers.

The training session will raise awareness of the importance of daily mouth care as well as practical advice for those people that are dependent or need assistance in oral care techniques. It will provide carers with the knowledge and ability to plan and deliver daily mouth care within care homes and domiciliary care.  Our training is bespoke to each care homes requirements.

Have a better understanding of how to assist residents with basic daily oral hygiene procedures and denture care

Have a better understanding of the mouth to include tooth anatomy and dental disease and recognise abnormalities

Recognize the need for specialized mouth care and supporting people who require assistance

Be able to outline the NICE Guidelines and Quality Standards and what this means for you so that you are better prepared for CQC

Carry out Mouth Care Assessments for residents in care homes

  •  

Create oral care plans for all residents

  •  

Outline the potential effects of poor oral health on an individual's general health and well-being

  •  

                        Oral care and dementia. Coping strategies for residents with challenging behaviour towards mouth care

  •  

 

Provide Daily Mouth Care for dependent and medically compromised residents
