Your role in supporting residents

Care home staff play a vital role in supporting and assisting residents to maintain their oral health as far as possible. 

Ensure that care staff are trained to understand mouth care needs, to carry out the assessment and that staff should be aware of signs of dental ill health.' NG48(NICE)

  Oral Health Awareness Scheme


1.  Choose how many Oral Care training sessions you would like your care home to have per annum. We'll email you with confirmation of the subscription and contact you to organize a date for training.

2. Oral care training will be organised on a date and time that suits you. For carers that are unable to attend the session a recording is sent with a follow up assessment and evaluation call.  All participants will be certified.


3.  Allocate an Oral Care Champion who will oversea that residents have had daily oral care, carry out oral health assessments, liaise with dental and healthcare professionals regarding oral healthcare issues and appointments. 

4. A Dental Care Professional from KOHC will assist the Oral Care Champion with Oral Health Assessments carried out virtually using a mobile device.  NB. Please note that an Oral Health Assessment is not a replacement for a physical dental examination. 

5.  On successful completion of oral health assessments and training the care home can display the  'Oral Health Awareness' Logo

IMPORTANT NOTE:   Please read carefully before purchasing the subscription Training Plan.

This is a legal agreement between you (Licensee or you) and [Knowledge Oral Health Care Limited of 7d Dragoon House, Hussar Court, Westside View, Waterlooville Hampshire, PO7 7SF (Licensor or we) for your purchase of Oral Care Training Subscription Plan ("Training Courses" and "Training Materials" respectively), which includes printed materials and online documentation (Documentation).

By clicking on the "purchase" button on PayPal payment page, you agree to these terms which will bind you and (if you are an employer) your employees. If you do not agree to these terms, we shall not sell Subscribed Training Plans, Materials or Documentation to you and you must discontinue the purchasing process now.


1.0 Introduction

1.1 Knowledge Oral Health Care Ltd agrees to provide training sessions supplied under this agreement and the Customer agrees to undertake and pay monthly for the training session/s supplied under this agreement. The terms and conditions of this agreement apply to standard Oral Care Sessions undertaken at the Customers premises or via our online portal (webinar).

1.2  When subscribing to our services you must provide us with accurate and complete information (including payment details, contact and other information) and it is your responsibility to update and maintain changes to that information.   All information received by us about you as a result of your subscription or your access to and use of Knowledge Oral Health Care Materials will be used for purposes in relation to corresponding to organise training and providing updated Oral healthcare information.

2.0 Booking

2.1 Booking: Once monthly payment has been set up an electronic receipt with be sent and with an email to book 1st training session. Certificates will be issued on the day of training.


3.0 Payment: Subscribed payments are made using PayPal, debit and credit cards or by BACS. 


3.1 Cheques: Is not accepted


3.2 Cash: Is not accepted 


4.0 Rescheduling

4.1 Rescheduling your Standard booking more than 14 days before your original course date: You may reschedule the training date more than 14 days before the original course date a new date will be accepted and confirmed by the trainer.


Cancellation Policy

5.0 Cancelling

5.1 Cancelling: You have the right to cancel your subscription plan at anytime without giving any reason.  Up to 6 months of payment will be refunded if training was due but has not taken place.


5.2 Cancelling within 7 days of booking: If you cancel your training session within the period of 7 calendar days of the training date please note that it maybe unlikely that another date can be made for a number of weeks depending on the trainer’s schedule.


5.3 If we cancel the booking: If we cannot deliver your training session for any reason outside of our control, we will make every effort to contact you via telephone or email message advising you of any disruption or cancellation. We will reschedule another date as soon after the course date as possible.


5.4 Exceptional circumstances: For example care home closure due to illness, medical emergency. The course will be rescheduled. Our Customer Care Team following receipt of documentary evidence.


6.0 Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Copyright: The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all courses developed shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Knowledge Oral Health Care Ltd.  The Customer undertakes that it will not copy or permit the copying of course materials, nor disclose or permit disclosure or sell or hire the same to third parties, nor use the same for running the customer’s own courses unless the express written permission of Knowledge Oral Health Care Ltd is given
